MPMA Event Code of Conduct
The Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance (MPMA) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all participants. We expect everyone attending MPMA events—whether in person or online—to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.
MPMA does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, intimidation, aggression, or disruptive behavior of any kind based on race, ethnicity, disability, religion, political affiliation, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other distinguishing characteristic.
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff, and volunteers at MPMA events and related activities.
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct
- Inappropriate physical contact, including unwelcome sexual advances, groping, or sexual assault
- Physical, verbal, written, or other abusive behavior directed at participants or staff
- Excessive consumption of alcohol that disrupts the event environment
- Failure to follow venue rules or MPMA event policies
Determinations regarding unacceptable behavior are made at the sole discretion of MPMA event organizers and their representatives.
Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Remain positive, respectful, and welcoming toward others
- Support an environment that values diversity of thought, organizations, and individuals
- Treat fellow participants, staff, and venue personnel with professionalism and courtesy
- Report any discriminatory, harassing, aggressive, or exclusionary behavior to MPMA staff immediately
- Use good judgment when consuming alcoholic beverages and do so responsibly
Consequences of Inappropriate Behavior
Reports of unacceptable behavior will be investigated promptly and thoroughly. Investigations may include interviews with the individual making the complaint, witnesses, and others who may have relevant knowledge of the incident.
Participants involved in an investigation may be asked to maintain confidentiality during the review process.
Anyone found to have engaged in unacceptable behavior may face consequences determined by MPMA, which may include immediate removal from the event without refund.
Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to MPMA staff. You may also contact an on-site MPMA staff member during the event.
In the event of an emergency, please contact local authorities immediately.
Policy Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all MPMA event venues, official event activities, and related social gatherings associated with MPMA programs.
MPMA reserves the right to update or revise this policy at any time.
