October 18, 2023, Alexandria, VA — The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) announced the promotion of Jenny Blackford to the organization’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) today. In her new role, Blackford will oversee the association’s systems and processes, enterprise wide. In addition, she will have expanded roles relative to human and technology resources and investments.

October 17, 2023 - The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) presented numerous awards during the 2023 Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) Awards Luncheon today in Detroit, MI. The event took place on the second day of the FTM, which is co-located with the 2023 Motion + Power Technology Expo. Awards were presented to AGMA technical committee members who have published a document within the last year and one AGMA member for the Chairperson’s Award.

September 5, 2023, Alexandria, VA —  The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) Technical Division Executive Committee, TDEC, announces a minor restructuring of AGMA technical committees to better serve the industry. The new structure will replace existing topic-specific committees with project-specific working groups that will be formed to develop the deliverable of each project. This provides the TDEC with the flexibility to pivot resources quickly, enabling AGMA to provide technical assistance to the industry as challenging issues arise. This is in contrast to the current system where the TDEC evaluation of possible new projects is limited to the pre-determined, subject-specific committees.

August 28, 2023, Alexandria, VA —  The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) Board of Directors elected two new members to serve a three-year term, from 2023 to 2026. This vote occurred at the most recent board of directors meeting in Ann Arbor, Michigan in August.

AUGUST 25, 2023 – ALEXANDRIA, VA – The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) has released the full 2023 Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) schedule. The 2023 FTM will be in Detroit, Michigan from October 16 through October 18.The 2023 FTM is divided into five sessions, each of which delves into different facets of the gear industry. January 18, 2023 – Alexandria, VA – The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) has announced the return of their no-cost webinars for anyone looking to learn from experts in the industry. The webinars were started years ago at the request of members and have continued to be a successful model to gather professionals for an hour to talk about current events that give tangible solutions.

December 1, 2022, Alexandria, VA – The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) is partnering with Virgo Communications & Exhibitions to publish Gear Technology India, the Indian branch of the Gear Technology magazine.

November 30, Alexandria, VA – The American Gear Manufacturers Association would like to introduce the Strategic Networking and Leadership (SNL) Forum, previously known as the Strategic Resources Network (SRN) Meeting. Following a strategic review in 2021, the name of the event has been changed to coincide with its restructuring. As it has over the past 16 years, the event will continue to provide up-and-coming gear industry leaders with valuable skills, information, and connections to smoothly transition into leadership positions within their companies. However, the event will now put greater emphasis on giving attendees new tools to utilize in a rapidly changing industry and economy.
