Accelerating Gear Product Development with 3D-printed Mold Tooling
The process of prototyping plastic gears has traditionally been an expensive and time-consuming endeavor that inhibits the speed of product development and limits companies’ agility in meeting customer demands. 3D printed steel tooling offers great promise in accelerating the development of plastic gearing, dramatically reducing lead times and costs. This webinar will share how manufacturers use plastic and metal 3D printing to accelerate the time to bring a new product to market. We will review in detail applications of metal 3D printed prototypes, bridge, and production mold tooling for plastic injection molded gears. PRESENTER Ethan Rejto, Director of Marketing, Mantle Ethan is the Director of Marketing at Mantle. Ethan has extensive experience in technical marketing for design and manufacturing products. He previously ran the technical marketing team at Desktop Metal, a 3D printing manufacturer focused on volume production. Before that, Ethan worked on the rapid prototyping team at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he worked on the laser communication system for the NASA Orion mission. Ethan has a Master of Engineering from Boston University and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Colorado, Boulder Please fill out the form below to access the webinar. AMEC – A New 3D Printing Option For Gears and More
Castings have long lead times. Tooling is a painful expense for small volumes or legacy parts. 3D printing solves these but presents its own problems including high costs, limited materials, difficulty in qualification, and slow deposition rates. AMEC is a new hybrid process that merges 3D printing with lost foam investment casting. This presentation will go over the process, how it solves these issues, as well as proof of concept gears that have been produced.

What Bearing and Gear Manufacturers Need to Know About the Inflation Reduction Act’s Support for the Electric Vehicle Supply Chain
Passed in 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act provides a range of subsidies designed to promote development of the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain. The implementation of the Act has not been without controversy, and many of the key provisions that manufacturers need to be aware of are only now coming into effect. In this program, a group of tax, trade, and policy experts will pull back the curtain on this legislation and explain the key provisions and opportunities that are starting to reshape the competitive landscape for bearing and gear manufacturers. Blockchain all grown up – Zero trust design explained
Zero trust design reduces assumptions of trust in computer systems leading to increased confidence for decision making and reducing the need for manual review. This is key to tackling many of the biggest challenges our society faces today like financial fraud, supply chain instability, election integrity, and so much more. This new paradigm will transform the cyber security landscape and even enable completely new business models. This technology is essential wherever data is valued and information security is paramount. By achieving complete confidence in our data, humanity is about to unlock the next era of automation with capabilities only limited by the reaches of our imagination. At Notoros, Inc., their team has developed the technology to make zero trust easy to adopt for any software, past, present, or future. Presenter Andrew Brick, Chief Product Officer Andrew got started in the Blockchain space over 10 years ago, prior to earning a Master’s of Electrical Engineering. Since then he’s worked in cybersecurity and distributed ledger technology at all levels of the stack including developing a loyalty points exchange for the NASDAQ, designing Web3 solutions for ESG markets, and building a peer-to-peer product exchange for the developing world. Now he is the co-creator of Notoros: a zero trust developer platform built to meet the needs of US businesses & critical infrastructure. Please fill out the form below to access the webinar. Can Robots Fix the Labor Crisis in Gear Manufacturing?
During the biggest labor shortage in many years, gear manufacturers need to automate. Finding the most promising areas for automation, however, can be tricky. Robotic technologies are advancing rapidly, and it can be difficult to get an overview of all the options and costs and finding the right supplier. In this webinar provided by global automation market HowToRobot.com, an independent expert from Gain & Co will share their insights on which areas of the gear manufacturing process are typically most ripe for automation, including some of the most common pitfalls to avoid when investing in robots. Finally, they will show how gear manufacturers can scout the automation market for tailored solutions and suppliers to get the most competitive prices. Presenter Stuart sheperd, chief strategy officer Stuart Shepherd has spent more than 40 years on transforming U.S. manufacturing with automation, currently serving as the Chief Strategy Officer for robotics marketplace HowToRobot.com and independent advisors Gain & Co. Past roles include General Motors, FANUC Robotics, Shepherd Solutions, KUKA Robotics, Güdel AG, and Universal Robots. He is also a Past Chairperson and Board Member of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), and a Past Chairperson of the Association for Advancing Automation (A3).
